May 2010
On Thursday, May 27 we sorted food at the Manna Food Center.
We donated funds to the Montgomery County Hospice Society.
April 2010 During the month of April we collected donations for the Literacy Council of Montgomery County.
January - February 2010 Our Community Service activity for the months of January and February was collecting used cell phones and accessories.
December 2009 Our Comminity Service activity for the month of December was gathering and donating new kids gloves, scarves and coats. These items were collected at the Holiday Party and we delivered 45 pieces of warm weather outerwear to the Interfaith Community Center.
November 2009 Our Community Service activity for the month of November was collecting and donating personal items for our injured Veterans at nearby facilities. The items included shampoos, conditioners, soaps, and colognes. We collected over 200 items.
DE-MD-DC IAAP Division Phonathon- November 28th 2009
The Chapter participated in the Division Community Service Activity at the Maryland Public Television Pledgeathon. This event took place on Saturday, November 28 at MPT in Owings Mill. Jennifer Adamson Berford, Division Community Services Chair was the Coordinator for this event.
Saturday, October 31, 2009 The MCC-IAAP team raised over $700.00 for the American Cancer Society by participating in the 'Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk' in Washington DC.
October 2009 The chapter collected prescription eyeglasses for the month of October as our Community Service activity.
August/September We collected two backpacks filled with school supplies along with boxes and bags of other school supplies. These were donated to the Montgomery County Public School system for distribution.
Saturday, July 18, 2009 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest This event raised money for the Rockville Youth Recreation Fund, which ensures that every Rockville child can participate in the many Recreation and Parks activities, and may do so without fear of financial disqualification. In addition Runfest proceeds fund the Rockville Rotary Foundation which helps to fund other charities. http://www.mcrrc.org/races/TwilightRunfest/about.htm
Saturday, April 4, 2009 Wilhelmina E. Bell-Taylor Race for Lung Life - the race took place at Candy Cane City - 7901 Meadowbrook Lane, Chevy Chase, MD 20815. It was a 5K fun run/walk to raise awareness in the fight against lung cancer. Individual registration fees in the amount of $25.00 were collected.
