Certification Exams (CPS/CAP)

If you are looking for ways to help you get ahead in the workplace, stop here. We at IAAP offer two professional ratings for office professionals. You will improve your professional qualifications, increase your skills and knowledge and raise your self-esteem.
Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) The CPS Examination is a one-day exam with three parts.
Office Systems and Technology – 12% computer hardware, systems, and configuration; 16% document layout, design, and reproduction; 60% software; and 12% managing physical resources.
Office Administration – 28% records management; 72% communication.
Management – 48% human resources; 16% accounting procedures and analysis; 12% time management; and 24% communication.
Certified Administrative Professional (CAP)
The CAP Examination is a one and one-half day exam with four parts.
Parts 1 – 3 of the CPS exam mentioned above.
Part 4 – Advanced Organizational Management – 28% organizational planning; 24% advanced administration; 24% team skills; 24% advanced communication.
The CPS and CAP exams are administered on the first consecutive Friday and Saturday every May and November. Part 4 of the CAP exam is administered on Friday afternoon; Parts 1 – 3 of the CPS and CAP exams are administered on Saturday.
Exam Dates - November 5 – 6, 2010, deadline for application submission is August 15, 2010.
May 6 – 7, 2011, deadline for application submission is February 15, 2011.
November 4 – 5, 2011, deadline for application submission is August 15, 2011.
